Follow-Up: Overwhelmed

I wrote last week about being completely overwhelmed.  Most of it was due to my disorganization.  I am learning that now.  So, how did everything turn out?

We are ready to close on the mortgage!  We will be closing on the new mortgage 2 ½ weeks before we originally expected to.  Everything turned out great.  The house appraised for a lot more than I expected considering the market and what projects still need completed.  We are going to be signing the papers this week!

The meeting with local business-women went OK.  I am still not very confident about the business we are trying to get up and running.  I feel like I need Todd to be my wing-man.  He is the talker out of the two of us.  He can talk to anyone.  I feel very uncomfortable going up to people and starting conversation.  But, I went, and I have a couple of leads for the business.

I have been doing really well with the library books.  I returned all but 2; however, many more came in.  So, I am keeping 1 out of the batch.  I hope to read at least one book this weekend (I am home while Todd is at work all day) and start on another. Not having a stack of books on the bedside table helps with my stress because I don’t have that nagging feeling that I should be reading all of those books.  Instead – I got rid of that and made a book wish-list in a document that I can get whenever I’d like.  Problem solved.

One thing I learned through being so overwhelmed last week is that I need to do better with my time-management.  I also need to work on my communication skills.  And as I mentioned in the original post, I need to loosen up on having to be in control all of the time.
